Besides yourself... Cause I know all you Stuart Smalley types are good enough and smart enough to be yourselves, but if you could be awesome bass player in awesome band, who would it be?
I'm having a hard time with this. Stuck between the desire to have chops and the desire to be a "rock star". So, who has both? Or as the question may be, who is awesome in a similar genre to what I play? Hmm...
I figure who'd not want to have lived the life of Nikki Sixx? Dude's seen everything. Sure, may not have the chops but the dude's seen everything. My other finalist was Flea. He has chops and has seen a lot but probably not as much as Mr Sixx. I could be wrong. Anyway, they might be my top two. Much different than my favorites, which is strange. |

Columbia recording artists who got one shot in the national spotlight with "Our Love Would Be Much Better (If I Gave A Damn About You)", performed on the Comedy Central show "Viva Variety".
Not only is Bobby a fantastic bassist who can play any style you throw at him, but I would KILL to have his voice also. Here they are playing one of my faves of theirs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ke3xAggeP4 |

| Do you want to die only to be alive again? Do you want to be a drug addict? I love his music but his life style is the last thing on my mind.
I'd rather be Sir Paul, Harris, Deacon or Sting.

These are the qualities that float my boat with Mr Jenkinson, amongst lot's of others. In my op, he is a true innovator. Matt Garrisons last album, Willis included, they know the score with him.
That's my choice, my favorite colour is black and I like Thai food

.... Tommy the Jenkinson IS the man. | +1 I only got to know his stuff and him about 7 years ago, he's been around since '96, he was mentioned to me then, but I didn't take it in. What a change in direction in bass and music, he knew the early programming machines better than the makers and got things out of them, you wouldn't find in the manual. Some of the live drum parts he plays are astounding, as artists de-construct tonality, he has an edge in de-constructing time too, he doesn't see boundaries, the horizons are much wider. He's very gifted, I'm with you there |
