If uncertain about reincarnation, would it be OK to acquire rather than inherit said skills?

Jaco's sheer technical facility/dexterity with the instrument, especially the fretless; Mick Karn's melodic and rhythmic imagination, Phil Lesh's musical fearlessness for lack of a better word.

Getting greedy, Jack Bruce's singing voice.

Jamerson's ability to take simple chord sheets and make bass lines that just sung and propelled the song along

Even though I play electric, I'd take Ray Brown's everything, especially his ears, Mingus's compositional abilities, and Bootsy's glasses.

i'm onboard with Hifiguy, and i'll add Anthony Jackson's dazzling time and parts-reading chops to that mix.

James Jamerson's groove and imagination, Willie Weeks' chops and impecable timing, Jaco's composition skills, Jerry Jermott's aggressive tractor groove, George Porter Jr.s ability to make mistake's sound good.

hahaha I'd take a slice of that wallet also...

and put it with Aston Barrett's groove, Jaco's musicianship, Stu Hamm's tricks, Lemmy's Balls (metaphorically speaking) Robbie Shakespeare's ladebackness (not a word I know), Jamerson's melody and timing, Bootsys percussive rhythm, and Flea's ... Flea's something, but I'm not sure what... well not his Teeth!!!!

Well I'd take Booty's sense of rythym and timing any day of the week. Oh and John Deacon's everything!

If I had Duck Dunn's skills, I would feel very accomplished and fulfilled.

The man does everything I have ever wanted to do on bass.
