That's a no-brainer...I'd hang out with Bootsy! Thing is, with Bootsy you KNOW everything is gonna be "on the one"

I think I might have to second Bootsy. You know it would be a good time no matter what.

Billy Gould just to talk to him about his tone on The Morning After.

If I could hang out with Geddy, my life would be complete! We could bring out his doubleneck Rickenbackers and jam!!!

It would depend on the context of the hang. If it were just hanging in the partying kind of sense, I don't know that I'd really be all that excited about it. If it were sitting around with a bass player with me trying to gain some kind of technical or playing instruction from them, then most any of the "bass heros" would be cool: Wooten, Oteil, Jaco, Bruce, whoever. If I could sit down with a bass player and just have them recount stories of things that have happened in their careers in the past, then it would probably be some like McCartney, Jamerson, Will Lee, Abe Laboriel, etc.

Stanley Clarke,I saw him last week @ the Catalina jass club in Hollywood. He played his stand up bass for all but one song.Man I was really blown away!I know he's been around for ever.I could have seen him many times before But WOW !!!!! He did stuff on his stand up that was just rippin!!!Stuff most other jazz greats couldn't do on an electric. For a few hours too!!I know it's just my opinion, But Im not really into him untill now!!!

I'd get drunk with Fat Mike. I think there would be some good conversation.

If he was still alive, Alan Spenner (Roxy Music, Jesus Christ Superstar...), failing that, I'd be happy to spend the afternoon drinking tea & chatting with Justin Meldal-Johnsen

Met him at a bass workshop this year. A very thoughtful guy, makes great conversation, and is an incredible solo player. Didn't seem like he'd be one knock back the brews too hard.

I'd be stoked to hang with Steve Bailey for a day!
