If it were sitting around with a bass player with me trying to gain some kind of technical or playing instruction from them, then most any of the "bass heros" would be cool: Wooten, Oteil, Jaco, Bruce, whoever. If I could sit down with a bass player and just have them recount stories of things that have happened in their careers in the past, then it would probably be some like McCartney, Jamerson, Will Lee, Abe Laboriel, etc. |

He played his stand up bass for all but one song.Man I was really blown away!I know he's been around for ever.I could have seen him many times before But WOW !!!!! He did stuff on his stand up that was just rippin!!!Stuff most other jazz greats couldn't do on an electric. For a few hours too!!I know it's just my opinion, But Im not really into him untill now!!! |

A very thoughtful guy, makes great conversation, and is an incredible solo player. Didn't seem like he'd be one knock back the brews too hard. |
