*ZOMBIE THREAD -
But I'll take Jamerson's Black Beauty - The 57 that was his first Fender bass and first stolen bass.

I use to own a Stingray 5 that belonged to David Hungate. Apparently was one of the first few hundred they made. Nice bass, was my main player for about 5 years, but once I got my Tobias it never got any play time.

As for wanting, I've always liked the checkerboard top Tobias 5 string Dave Pomeroy has. I'm sure he'd never sell it though.

Geddy or Chris Squire's respective Rickenbackers (I think Geddy's was a 4003 and Squire's a 4001?). Also John Deacon's sunburst P bass and Andy Rourke's P bass, which I'm fairly sure was also sunburst. And, to top it off, the fretless bass used by Baghiti Khumalo at the Graceland live shows in Africa, used on You Can Call Me Al and a few others.

2. Geddy's 72 Jazz
3. Dug Pinnicks 8 string Hamer from the "Gretchen" days
4. Les's Claypools 4 string Carl Thompson

Lee Sklar's Fender frankenbass, Will Lee's Sadowsky from back in the early years of the Letterman show and Pino's Fiesta red p-bass. Or just the mojo from any of those instruments.

I guess I would go for Stanley Clarke's original Alembics; Leon Sylver III's Rickenbacker 4001; Bernard Edwards' Stingray; and one of Anthony Jackson's Fodera's with active electronics.

I wasn't going to participate cuz I'm not that much of a star-sniffer but +1 to the above but ONLY if it has the mirror scratch guard.

Famous bass

Andy Fraser's Gibson EB3 and Felix Pappalardi's Reverse Thunderbird. Why not throw in the Jazz Bass David Brown played at Woodstock with Santana.

I'm a McCartney fan, and if I were a lefty I'd say Macca's Rickenbacker. But alas, I'm a righty. So in that case I would choose....

Rick Danko's Gibson Ripper, as seen in The Last Waltz
