Les Claypool's Carl Thompson 'Rainbow Bass'. The thing almost single handedly convinced me to get into fretless playing.

I'm curious about how many people are attracted to their basses of choice by the fact that a certain person has touched them or by unique features that the bass itself possesses. While playing P and J basses that have been owned by certain people is cool and all, my feeling is that it doesn't seem like they'd be all that different from most other P and J basses of the era from which they come.

Phil Lynott's Precision with mirror PG. The stud strap would be a bonus.

Has Jack Bruce's Gibson been mentioned. Jack's been a hero of mine since 1966 and I'd love to own this baby.

+1 I'd love to own that instrument.

I'd also love to own Phil Lesh's Ritter Eye of Horus, but he already gave it to Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.
