If you could see John Entwistle one last time...

(inspired by this thread: What would you say to Geddy...)

So suppose you magically can see John Entwistle one last time before he fades into forever again, what do you say/do to him?

I'd ask him to teach me his four-finger technique exactly the way he learned it.

How bout you guys?

He'd probably just tell you to practice it all the time with a metronome. That's usually the best and quickest way to master any technique.

If it was a day situation, I'd just ask for road stories. He's probably got the best, he'd be a great "celeb to have a beer or 23 with."

Oh yeah, and I'd ask him what he would say to Geddy Lee.

shake his hand, and ask him what his favorite western movie was...oh yeah, and ask him about that whole, "playing bass in the who" thing.

I'd say the sound you got on Live At Leeds KICKS ASS!
P-bass, roundwounds and a ****-load of Hiwatt tube amps.
That set-up sounded better to me than all the sophisticated stuff he used later (not that that stuff sounded bad).

yea, i'd really like to see you tell him he sounds like crap. i wouldn't be surprised if he pulled out his least favorite bass at the time and smashed it over your head.

Martin Luther FTW. We now return you to your bass thread.

I'd rather have the guy alive and annoyed with me over an ego dented by the truth, than dead or sounding like ****.

That's pretty darn funny. Any one of his Buzzards would deal a fatal blow... LOL!

If John Entwistle was here, I'd ask him, "Hey John, what are you doing here? You've been dead five years!"

Possibly the most uber-American comment I've ever heard.
