Aston Barrett. Pretty cool dude except for not being able to read or write, and having 50+ kids. He's Jamacian so I could grow dreadlocks.

One who makes a comfortable living playing bass without having to hold down a day gig.

John Deacon, no question! To anchor Queen, with the style he did, well, that's great

For me it would probably be Sting, or (Sir) Paul.

Ooh ooh, Tim Commerford, I would love to be able to rock out hard to those riffs

Hmmm. I could name quite a few...

There's Bootsie Collins, Roger Glover, Steve Harris... but, um, if I were going to be one of them, I'd have to give up the tracts of land, unless genetic engineering advances pretty damn quick.

Guess I'll have to go with Tina Weymouth.

+1

Also, Lee Sklar (maybe without the beard), and Jimmy Johnson (I wish I could have a ponytail like that).

A tie between Mark Sandman and Paul McCartney

runner up: Martyn P Casey, not just because he's a great bassist, but also plays with the coolest band on earth.

Half James Jamerson, half John Paul Jones WITH Lee Sklar's beard for the win.
That way I could be a wizard with groove who actually gets paid.

Gene Simmons. The guy has made a ton of money and has bagged more beautiful girls than I care to think of.

But if I could have someone else's talent, it would be John Paul Jones.

Wooten for the chops

Oteil Burbridge for the groovy chords

McCartney for the money
