Mr. Wooten amazes me with what he can do. I have seen a lot of his video clips on YouTube and I am always left impressed. Does he mostly play on a four? I've seen a few with 5, but it seems like it's mostly 4.

I have to say, I'm really glad that this video didnt just start off with him double thumping the crap out of his bass. It's actually tasteful! (at least up untill around 1:40). Seriously, it's impressive at first, but really has no place in most music.

Yeah, from what I've seen & heard, the majority of his playing is done on a 4-string, but I he also does great work on a fretless 5.
But yeah, it's either fretted 4 string or a fretless 5 String for the most part.
As well as the 4 string tenor bass (tuned a 4th higher then standard).
