I think I would enjoy DT more if they didnt have a singer.... He is the weak link in that band. Just my humble opinion

Slammin! Love those guys...but I feel the same, every time I hear his voice I just cringe...(waiting for Yngwie solos to fly out of his rectum).

Whoa, haha. I thought this would be a Myung appreciation thread but it's a Labrie basher. Although I do agree whole-heartedly. The only time I have heard his vocals appropriately was when they were doing covers of old Rush songs (The Necromancer) at least he was as high as Geddy was back in the day.

I'm always amazed at how high he lifts his fingers off the fretboard, and yet still gets that kind of speed and accuracy. Great stuff. I'm a huge fan.

He just needs more definition in his tone. Usually he gets lost in the mix.

I don't see how the vocalist is even tolerated. I made it about 20 seconds in after the vocals started. Horrid.

He has such little hands...how does he reach some of those riffs as fast as he does. Very fun to watch.

Mike Portnoy (drums) is unbelievable. Not only is he technically freakish, he is showy as hell.

LaBrie...I can't imagine anyone else being able to vocally fill those songs. Some can't stand Geddy's voice or Jon Anderson's either, but, they fit the music they play.

As Portnoy would tell you, he is an INCREDIBLE drummer.

That Yamaha definately didn't give him what he needs, though it wasn't bad. On the most recent album he did alot of recording with an EBMM Stingray, unless I"m mistaken. Step in the right direction.

Awesome player.

Years ago, I bought a Bass mag, with an article featuring Myung and they boasted a "lesson" by him...it was just a bunch of scales.

Scales I could find in like a million other books.

What a let down!
