Im not sure if Michael is any specific person. I think he is supposed to be like a spiritual guide and is sort of like an imaginary friend from what I gathered. Either way, incredible book. Completely changed my views towards music and life.

+1 If it's supposed to be an acutally person, I have no idea who. I just thought it was a great character and I have to agree, this book changed the way that I view and approach music.
The audio book is really good, too. Michael is hilarious.
