i was watching the strat pack concert at wembley stadium from 2004 last night and pino played much of the show with multiple artists. i really began to study and appreciate him.

playing his precision with flatwounds, he nondescriptively layed down a perfect groove all night. what was really inspiring was how he would throw in runs here and there, but never to take away from the song or draw attention to himself. wonderful, tasteful playing.

his fitment into a band situation resonates in me- this is how a bassist should be; just my two cents...

Pino is in a class by himself.
Is there anyone who is recording with more artists and as many different styles of music right now.
Just check out his credits.

for real, he's covered every angle just about, go back and hear the stuff he played on Paul Young's 80's records, super slick fretless... knows how to play to the situation...

Love the Strat pack DVD. Pino gets a LOT of screen time. Picked up some fingering tips just from watching.
