Hey,
I discovered this amazing young bassist a year ago the Glastonbury Festival Jazz Lounge - a very shy, modest, quietly spoken guy by the name of Kevin Glasgow. I'd never heard of him - and like his name suggests he hails from Edinburgh - I saw him play a couple of sets in a fusion quartet and his solos really blew me away - as did his musicianship and accompaniment skills. Not only is the guy great at all the fundamental stuff but he's a tapper of hugely melodic proportions, he also slaps great, even uses a plectrum with rare skill - sweep picking as good as Frank Gamble with whom he's jammed, and who rates him. He's also done a few gigs with Joe Locke and other serious jazzers.
Anyway he's finally added some mainly soloish tunes to My Space which hint at how good he is - he's 22 - a really nice guy and a bassist with his own approach - no he does NOT sound like Matt Garrison/Bona/Jaco - he plays a Yamaha 6 string and that's about it. I hope you dig his playing as much as I do:

PS I'm not this guy's mate or something - I'm just a really big fan of his ability - he's amazing, he's not famous yet - but he will be.
Cheers
Mike
