Never saw that before. Like a traffic accident--hard to look away. When I see something like this I have to remind myself of some advice I received a long time ago: Never judge a man by his worst moment. Not really sure if this was Jaco's worst moment, but it's certainly not how I care to remember him. And, hell, I'm just glad there are no YouTube videos of MY worst moments. I have not yet acquired a level of musicianship sufficient to redeem myself from those moments!

It really puts some of the "stories" of Jaco into better perspective seeing these videos. They greatly sadden me. He had such an incredible wealth of musical creativity and knowledge that seemed to flow effortlessly...but his sickness and alcoholism and earlier drug addiction ultimately did him in. He wouldn't have probably survived much longer after the nightclub/venue incident in FL that ultimately took his life.

What, he could be a regular guy? What's the big problem here? Sure, he was a whack job but these videos don't show it at all. Looks like a pretty good hang to me. Geez folks, lighten the eff up...

It shows to me that he is pretty far gone...either mentally or physically due to excessive alcohol consumption. It is sad that someone with so much talent, beyond talent, was willing to throw it away. He did have emotional, familial, and mental problems he was trying to drown through alcohol consumption...but in the end...the alcohol and drugs were part of a choice he made when he continued to use those substances and it adversly affected his life.

Sure, he looks like any typical immature drunk and stoned idiot 14 year old. Nothing special.

A regular guy would have been fine... but a regular drunken basket case is quite different. Shame.

I guess it's just kind of sad in the context of the many infamous stories about him and knowing how his life ended. But, yeah, other than that, I agree with you. I have to admit I actually currently play with some people who regularly behave quite a bit crazier than this particular video shows. Luckily, those friends of mine are still alive, though.

Yes. That is him.

He appears to be in the middle of an "interview" in which the man conducting the interview is also partaking in the "good times".
