I've been listening to Frank Zappa's Apostrophe (') album for a while now, and I heard that Jack Bruce played on some songs. Does anyone know which ones he played on?

The title track. A killer jam if I say so myself... which I may have already, I don't recall.

I'm pretty sure that Tom Fowler played bass on all the tracks except 'Apostrophe'. That whole album is absolutely smokin' hot, right up there with 'Overnite Sensation' and 'Live at the Roxy'. Jack Bruce was so good with Zappa, I wonder if there are some long lost tapes floating around out there with the two of them jamming. Jack had the chops to hang with Zappa, I wish I had 10% of his skills!.

Jack just played cello, not bass, on that album if I recall correctly. Not even a whole song, only a few notes.

EDIT: Thinking of something else... yeah, Jack played only on Apostrophe.

Wasn't Jim Gordon drumming on that tune? I love it, Jack Bruce is amazing.

I've read somewhere that he played a Fender Bass VI (that he used in The Cream days) on that track. Can't find the book right now, though...

I've seen a quote floating around where he claims to have only played cello. But that fuzzed out solo on the title track is unmistakably Jack!

I'm doubting it. He stopped playing it because its psychadelic paintjob made it unplayable.

In addition to Jack Bruce on the title track, the liner notes for Apostrophe' credit Tom Fowler, Erroneous (Alex Dmochowski), and Frank Zappa himself with the bass playing!
