Mine is Why Doncha by West Bruce & Laing.
I've listened to that album on and off for decades and Jack Bruce's playing never ceases to amaze and intrigue me.
Nobody plays like JB and that album captures Jack in rare form.
Jack's rhythmic placement and phrasing, the way he'll come into a verse or chorus and displace accents and beats, it's just remarkable. And he plays with so much energy and fire. It's just so Jack Brucey. I can never get enough.

It's been a while since I've listened to them, but IIRC my favorites were "All Roads Are Made of the Flesh" and "Desire Develops an Edge". |

A surprising one is "Monkjack". JB only plays bass on one track - the rest of the album is predominately him solo on piano & vocal. Some great cuts on that, especially the old Eddie Mayer/Bluesbreakers standard "Third Degree".
For sheer βΘИΞКЯŲŜĦÏИĞ tone, look no further than "Inazuma Super Session Absolute Live!" with Anton Fier and Kenji Suzuki. White Room: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9QQ30dVxls

That said, Songs For A Tailor is a nice slice of Pop music.

| | | I like the West, Bruce and Laing albums. I have a bootleg of Tony Williams (w/Jack Bruce and Allan Holdsworth) that I like to listen to. The 1977 Jack Bruce Band (How's Tricks) was great, also Jack Bruce and Friends with Cobham, Clempson and Sancious. My favorite is Cozy Powell's Over The Top album. There also was a concert of that band ( http://vivalesbootlegs.blogspot.com/...re-london.html) |

Rory Gallagher being taught 'Politician' on the way from the dressing room: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXk--eL5-kQ No sign of Brendan O'Neill being briefed, but he did a fine job just the same & the interplay between him and Bruce is an education.
From the same set... Born Under A Bad Sign: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwmMnayc3Ho&NR=1 Looks like JB was the only one in the band who knew this
Looks like there's at least one more out there somewhere - any Rory completists got the full Rockpalast DVD set & can enlighten?
Pete.

B. "A Question of Time" from the nasty funk of "Grease The Wheels" to the sweeping majesty of "Life On Earth", to the muted ache of "Kwela", it's all there.
C. "Shadows In The Air" because it has beautiful new material and well as exciting reinventions of "White Room", "Sunshine Of Your Love", and "Out Into The Fields" (the only WBL song that mattered).
