I really dont know to much about Jack DAley . Ive heard him with Kravitz and he really grooves and rocks. He's got some pretty great vintage gear also. Anyone got any info on Jack DAley? |

And now he's back. Yes, he, like everyone in that band, is a vintage gear freak, and uses a really sweet looking late 60's Jazz Bass with SVT's. Sounds like he's a bit of a head case, but his bass playing is great.

Nope. He's the one who joined when the other guy quit for his girlfriend.
Jack is from the Albany, NY area. He gigged here constantly for a long time. Picked up and moved to NYC and starting playing all he could there. Got hooked up with Lenny and has been his touring bassist for over 10 years. Lenny pretty much plays all the instruments on the recordings. The support players are pretty much for touring. I dont think he's been on hardly on studio tracks. He's a monster player. Lots of technique, great groove. Hope that helps

On the other hand, maybe the guy who quit is the smart one. The music business does suck much ass, especially when you're a sideman and you're at the mercy of whatever bone the leader decides to throw to you. You'd be surprised how cheap some of them can be.

Well, in some cases. Jack is actually on retainer. He draws a salary for the gig. Not a bad deal, plus tons of exposure. I'm pretty sure he played bass on Joss Stones latest record, too but dont quote me on that one. Its her or another female up and coming artist
