Whoa, you GOTTA check out jaco if you are a bassist. Opinions aside, and whether or not you like him, yuo can't argue that he is one of the top 2 or 3 bassists ever, and arguably the most important electric bass player ever. Definatley pick up his first solo (eponymous) album and weather report's 8:30 live album.
