I was not impressed, I just mirrored your reaction to my opinion. No need for me to start any big argument, though. I'm not "knocking" David or his playing in general, in fact I haven't heard him play anything other than that track. I just know what I think works musically and what I think doesn't. Not because of what or how I play, like I'm supposed to be "the bomb" or anything, but simply because I don't find that track convincing on the same level as the music I usually listen to. Even in the context of that album, I think the track stands out like a sore thumb.

I know him personally. I lived in Melbourne FL before I rejoined the Army as a bass player. Dave is a great guy and he's also a very skilled player.
There is also another guy in town there you should check out. His name is Nathan Thorpe, son of Blues guitar player Steve Thorpe. Both of these guys have vids posted on youtube.com and are very humble and great people.
Enjoy the videos and check either of these guys out whenever you get a chance to hear them live. |

BTW What band you in. Medusa here. | Medusa in the house!!!! I was in PRC-77 and Tango Palace before that. I'm now playing bass in the Army Band. It's great to see representation from the home town on here.
Best wishes to all of you with your band. Keep Brevard on the map!!! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
