Jamerson in Marvin Gaye DVD

Sign in to disble this ad
Has anyone picked up the Marvin Gaye DVD "Real Thing: In Performance 1964-1981"? Check out the following clip with Jamerson and his bass...

YouTube - ‪Marvin Gaye "What's Going On / What's Happening Brother"‬‏

Those who have it - what do you think? How much JJ is in the DVD?

Can't comment on the DVD but the actual recording session of What's Going On is one of the great stories in Jamerson lore. Dr. Licks - Standing In The Shadows Of Motown is a must have for stories and the audio music magic of Jamerson, IMHO.

That is awesome. I wonder how much other live footage there is of James.

I've done a whole lot of JJ listening and reading, but I'm just realizing - that's the first time I saw a video clip of him. Would love to know where any other video of JJ playing is.

It's the only clip of him I've ever seen too.
