ps- i thought this quote from his wiki page was intersting;

as other musicians went on to use high-tech amps, round-wound strings, and simpler, more repetitive bass lines incorporating new techniques like thumb slapping, Jamerson's style fell out of favor with local producers and he found himself reluctant to try new things. By the 1980s he was unable to get any serious gigs working as a session musician

I've got "Standing in the Shadows of Motown", but was not aware of this one, also interested in any info!

Looks like it may be about more than just Jamerson: The Birth of Bass. Though from the synopsis, Jamerson would necessarily have to play a big part.

Would love to see more of it.

Actually I thought it looked boring, yet I'm super interested in anything that's bass-related. A few cheesy cliché (come on, you rolled your eyes too during the air bass solos) and a nasty standing in the shadow aftertaste.

Never seen or heard about this before. Most of the footage in the trailer was shot here in Nashville, which is where Babbit lives. Not much info about the film, the filmmaker, or the studio on the web. (The studio has only two videos on Youtube. And what kind of studio would confuse a trailer with a "pilot"?) Strange. . .

Oh MAN! That's great!

(Can we have one on Bernard Edwards, too?)

That's the sad part of Jamersons's legacy...dying without never knowing the impact he had on every future bass player. He was such a brilliant player who sadly died without knowing his self-worth. Standing in the Shadows is a great book for anyone who wants to know more about him and his style of playing.

When I read the title of this thread, I thought it was a real "Jamerson movie". You know, with actors playing the role of Jamerson, his family, etc. This would rock.
