James Jamerson's bass playing on the Jackson 5's..."Darling Dear"

Hey gang. I was just listning to the Jackson 5's "Darling Dear" and WOW! James Jamerson's walking "melodic" bass lines are truly "breath taking"! Any of you guys familier with that tune?

Yeah, it's great stuff. It's also a typical example of how a bass player can just trounce all over a drummer and still sound tight and perfect for the music. A lot of people are fond of saying how the bassist always needs to "lock in" with the drummer, but I point to a song like this and scream, "Bull feathers!" This song's music wouldn't have been nearly as memorable if Jamerson hadn't plowed through the drummer.
