Today is James Jamerson's birthday. If he were alive he would be 74 today.
Last year I posted a video of my (poor) attempt to play my transcription of You're My Everything to mark his birthday. I'll be sending that transcription to
www.bassbooks in the next few days for them to post in their transcriptions section.
This year to mark his birthday I transcribed 3 Jamerson bass lines and interviewed JC10255 and jamerson's Hook from youTube about playing with the 'hook.'
Those interviews will be up on my website in a month or so....this year I'm going to transcribe a lot of Jamerson tunes that haven't been transcribed anywhere yet.
On my list are AT LAST (Stevie Wonder), DIFFERENT WORLD (4 tops), CLOUD 9 (Temptations), LOVES GONE BAD (Chris Clark), ROSE FOR MY ROSE (Marv Johnson), MY WHOLE WORLD ENDED WITHOUT YOU (David Ruffin).
