I think it sounds great! I've been waiting for over a year to hear how he was going to do. Anyone agree? Or disagree?

Depends what time of the month it is for Mustaine

And I thought his Warwick sounded awesome live.

Should be okay I guess, I don't think he's really that special a player though...

Don't know about the album, but I saw them opening for "Heaven and Hell" AKA Black Sabbath the other night. Live, I can say his fingers moved, and he walked around. Not sure there were batteries in his wireless, or maybe somebody forgot to plug him into the PA.

But, somewhere down the line, someone made a big mistake, I guess?

I picked up the album a few days ago, and I think it rocks! The bass playing is nothing special, but then again, since Ellefson left Mustaine took even more control over the music, and I wouldn't doubt it if he just wrote the bass parts himself... His tone is awesome though, and the mix is pretty kind to the low frequencies too.

I really dig his playing on "Washington Is Next"

His tone doesn't fit the band.

Thanks for the heads-up on the new album.
Wow, when I saw them headline Gigatour in Oklahoma he(as well as peter lindgren of opeth) had major rig problems,

When I saw him down here in South Fla. he ripped, maybe it was because it was one of the last Gigantour shows and they figured out his live setup?

Anyway I think his tone does fit the band NOW but on older stuff it's just hard for me to not see Ellefson on stage...I don't know but J LO is a a solid player and on the new album, even my guitar players (that are responsible for getting me into Megadeth and metal) say that they can hear the bass more. I personally think theres some great bass work on the album its just DIFFERENT because we (as Megadeth/Ellefson fans) are used to Ellefson's cutting P/J tone...The bass on this album definately sits well in the mix and is warmer than previous recordings.

I too heard no bass when Megadeth opened for black sabbath. Aswell, that warwick explorer just looked way to big on him for some reason.
Geezer on the other hand was a completely different story!

Haven't picked up United Abominations yet so i can't really say much. But live i was not impressed, not that it was his fault really.

Aswell he's never really stuck out to me.

His tone was nice throughout the whole album.

When it comes to the CD as a whole... I would give it a 8 or 9 in a 1 to 10 scale

I saw 'em live yesterday... they were awesome. Lomenzo had this really nice Warwick bass too. His tone is pretty different than Ellefson's... I think Ellefson cut through a lot more. Lomenzo is a great bassist though.
