I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to add a blurb about the 12 string bass thing. There was a music store in Chicago several years ago that had the original 12 string Warwick bass that was made for Jason. The store was told that the neck was too big for Jason and so he basically didn't take it from Warwick. Thus he ended up playing the much smaller necked Hamer 12. Having played the Warwick, it would be a beast for most people. A really interesting all black bass. I wonder who has that bass now?

Hey Scott the store that has that bass is Andy's music.
It was a nice bass but it was huge and very heavy.
I'll give them a call. I would love to check it out again if it is still around. I will be in Chicago a couple of days after Christmas for a bit. I will call you.

I can't really say much about Jason's tone during the Sadowsky years. But, his tone before that was typically from hard maple and brass. Spector(EMG) and Alembic...
