I like this little guy 'cause he almost passes for cute. I mean in a Harry Potter-esque, Middle-Earthling, not-quite-ghastly kind of way.
I can picture a group of 30 or so of them standing around, bobbing and hopping about, calling out in their little croaky barks on top of a line of cabanas late in the day at some summer beach-side resort. A bar-back will be coming along shortly with a broom to shoo them away...
I can appreciate a good nightmare."

You are a person, and perceive yourself as part of a community. You could be anything- a shoemaker, a mason, a line-cook, a carpenter.
A rock-star mentality is as strange as any other mental or emotional imbalance. Whatever you do, you have to have your feet on the earth, because you live here. Watching the video there, you have a couple generations of this 'Hard Earth' ethic being passed along down the line. This vid should be required watching for any student of anything, for that reason. Besides all the cool and edifying playing, of course...

| | FenderBassMan40 | | | | | Lessons with the man:
I studied bass with him for about a year. He dug underneath the layers and found the groove in me. It's all the groove with jauqo. It's been about three years since lessons and even when I read or see the word groove written down to explain something nonmusical I hear the word in his inflection and voice. That and "slow down John!" is ingrained in my brain and I hear his voice every time I'm rushing through a new piece of music. I was in a rut when I came to him for lessons and he reset me in the path thatI'm still on today.
