Question Jazz Bassists That Play Electric

Sign in to disble this ad
I am trying to compile a list of jazzers that play electric. These are the ones that I can think of at the moment:

1. Jimmy Haslip
2. Brian Bromberg
3. John Patitucci
4. Christian McBride

Can you guys (and gals) come up with others? It would be cool to find jazz bassists that mainly play electric ; however, I know many of them double on acoustic.

Thanks,
Joe

When you listed Clarke, that reminded me of Marcus Miller

And then, , of course, JACO!

slightly off the topis...

almost all jazz that i have seen recently had a DB instead of a BG. i'm not a big fan of DB, i much prefer the sound of a BG. on that note, i saw a ray charles performance on the ovation channel and his bassist was using a BG,

many acts in the house of jazz ( i think that is in canada?) featured bass players with electric basses. sorry guys, i don't know the names though

I know he uses an upright from time to time, but John Pattituchi does some really cool stuff on an electric as well.

Thumbs up

This is just the kind of response I was looking for! As I read your responses, I begin to remember others like:

Yves Carbonne
Kai Eckhardt
Abe Laboriel
Peter Cardinali (Toronto bassist/producer)
Roy Vogt
Alain Caron
David Buda
Mike Pope (Also plays upright)
Norm Stockton
Lucas Pickford

Any others?
