Is Jeff Ament playing T-Birds?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,
Went to a Pearl Jam concert in Melbourne, Australia last Friday.
A really great gig, those guys have lost nothing over the years and even played a cover of Baba O'Reilly which was a highlight, 'cause I rank Ament as close to the Ox for rock 'n roll.
He played a fair few different basses in the show, most of which I've seen before, but I've never seen him playing 2 of the basses which look like Gibson Thunderbirds but with the headstock reversed.
One was a deep mahogany finish and the other was painted a chequered finish all over.
Anyone know what these are?.
Looks like he's been playing them all the current 2009 tour from what I've found in Google pictures.

Yes, I love those basses. and I love Jeff and PJ. Saw them twice this summer and was surprised the first time I saw the black and white T-bird

you can see it here: http://www.pearljam.com/photo/100609-los-angeles-6

T-bird + ultraliter turners = win.

Lull T-birds

I've been to Lull's shop in Bellevue wa. His basses are incredible. If I ever was to get a fender style bass it would beyond doubt be a Lull P.
His take on the T-bird is a fantastic piece of musical art, but the price is not for the faint hearted!
