Just found Jeff Andrews on youtube... ...what can i say... ...impressive skills.

Does anyone hear have any information about his basses?

I´ve seen him with a Fender P with JJ-PUs:

it has 4 knobs so i guess it´s active somehow...?!

Then he has a PJ - passive?!:

A nice brown sunburst custom P with JJ-PUs again:

And finally a New York Bass Works Studio 5:

Sadly you don´t find a lot about him on the internet so if anyone of you has some more informations i´d appreciate it.

Thx bench

He used to play with "Vital Information" back in the 90s.

One of their better albums with him was "Easier Done Than Said".

He has a couple tasty solos on that one.

Hope this helps.

When I saw him with Vital Information, he was playing the P-J.
He's one of my favorite bass soloists, very lyrical and horn-like phasing in his solos, you can hear the breathing in his lines.

Jeff Andrews

I really liked Jeff Andrews playing with Special Effects on their Spice of Life and Mystique albums..
Nice fretless playing tasteful and central to the music. I bought a course he did online a few years back.

I believe the P J bass, and the JJ bass are one in the same.
A 1965 P-bass.
I use to see Jeff use the PJ, back in NY.
It had a Tortise Pickguard them.
I believe it was worked on, jazz pickup routed in neck position.
New pickguard, and electronics.
Vary cool player, and sweet bass.

your link to "A nice brown sunburst custom P with JJ-PUs again" is a Yamaha BB1500a in wine burst. I picked one up last summer on CL for $300 bucks. Mine is a 2000 model, killer bass for the money.
