He's just the most lyrical guitar player in rock, hands down.
He just may be. I love the guy.

For those that may not be familiar but want to, you might want to invest in this three-pack for starters:

Here's Stanley Clarke with Beck, "Hello Jeff":

I'm a big fan of Beck's career and the bassist he used, but Chaman was always my favorite. Check out Brian Auger's ' Happiness Heartaches' album sometime, Chaman plays beautifully throughout!

In GP this month there is a run down on one of his touring rigs. The only pedal listed is a flanger... I've never heard a flange do Reverb & Echo that well...

I'm listening to the Yardbirds' "Roger the Engineer." Jeff must have blown peoples' minds when that stuff came out in the mid-1960's.

She plays with a maturity beyond her years IMHO, and like another poster said before, just wait about 5 years and see how good she is THEN.
But thats the thing isnt it. As you said "beyond her years", we are still judging her by age/sex

So what does everybody think of him?

I heard a clip from his live cd that was recorded at Ronnie Scott's jazz club I can't wait to get my hands on that. It will be released on Nov. 25 I think.

Picked up the Live At Ronnie Scott's cd for Xmas...listened to it today front to back while raking the entire neighborhood's leaves that found their way into my yard.
Great, great, great playing by all.
Nice sounding mix, too.

Love Jeff Beck. Love.

Just the most expressive player I can think of.

My stepdad is perhaps the biggest Jeff Beck fan there could be. I bought him the live at Ronnie Scott's CD for Christmas even though he'd already seen every cut on YouTube (and a number that didn't make it on to the recording) and he really dug it.

Supposedly there is a DVD coming out from his nights there too, but as of the week before Christmas I could only find a Japanese website that was taking preorders. From what my stepdad said, the songs with Joss Stone and Eric Clapton (introduced as "the master of the Stratocaster") will likely be on DVD as they aren't on the album.

Im sorry guys, really, but all the stuff said about her only being so famous because of her age and sex is totally ridiculous. Not from you guys, but the overall generalization of her playing. She is holding the groove, and soloing with on the of the best guitarists... EVER! The day that we are on the stage at Crossroads, is the day we can talk smack on Tal.

Yep, the cd's booklet has a "Coming Soon On DVD & Blu-Ray" advert.

You do know DVDs are usually assigned a Region, right? That is, you may need a Multi-Region deck to play a Japanese DVD.
