I've never understood this whole debate about which player/musician has more taste/chops than another. It is baffling to say the least. To imply the notion of 'taste' on any player/musician is really an inward reflection of the person making such judgements. Taste therefore, becomes another word for beauty. Beauty, as they so often say, is in the eye of the beholder. If you don't like it, don't listen to it!

Thumbs up

as to the whole "points" system around here I'll not say what I'm feeling but i will say this.

I find it hilarious that I can have a differing opinion with someone here @ TB, think that they have a "douchebag" point of view and let them know that and then I get in trouble because I've disrespected them. YET, we have an entire thread here that is full of nothing but name calling and slander towards someone but it's ok because it's in the name of "opinion" , "my point of view", and "freedom of speech".

effing ridiculous.

If Jeff was still a member of Talkbass, these threads wouldn't be allowed!

Of course, I think Jeff would be the first person in defending himself before the inevitable closure! I just think it's a shame at times that we can't discuss Jeff's music here at Talkbass without it turning into a slanging match.
