Jimmy Bain's tone on Dream Evil

Sign in to disble this ad
I just picked up a copy of Dio's Dream Evil the other day and Jimmy's bass tone really stood out to me, especially on the title track. Does anyone know what gear was using at the time? I think I remember hearing he used some type of Yamaha back then, but I don't really remember.

Sounds like a Ric to me, he has a really nice growl to his tone.
