Joe Dibiase in Fates Warning again

Saw one of Fates Warning's reunion gigs this last weekend. Excellent show.

I had only ever seen them play with Joey Vera on bass and while he of course always held it down good and proper it was very refreshing to see the real deal with Frank Aresti and especially Joe Dibiase. Well, more than refreshing, downright badass!

For someone who's been out of the music biz for over a decade Dibiase was in top form and had a great sound. I think he was playing a Dean. A lot of standout songs but for me 'Monument' was the killer tune.

That's way cool! I've been a fan of Fates for a long time and I had the chance to see them a couple of times for Parallels and Inside Out. Great band and one of those tragic stories of great musicianship and songwriting not getting noticed by the populace at large. People ask where's the good music gone all the time. It's here right under your nose where its always been. You just wont find it on the radio.

BTW Mark Zonder is my #1 drum influence. The guy has sick chops and can still groove.
