You'll probably get better results if you ask in the bass guitar forum. But I happen to love Zeppelin and JPJ, and I believe that he used an Acoustic 360 amp and cab during the Zep days.

If you google on "lemon song bass tabs", you'll get several hits. I checked 'em out; for the life of me, I can't figure out how you guys read those things. That's a great bass track; I remember learning that one by ear off of the album when it came out. Great musician, that guy.

Whoops.....sorry, Rob, you beat me! (echo, echo, echo....)

you are right on about the acoustic 360 rig. fender jazz bass with flatwounds was his primary bass. jpj is a bad bad man. i could talk about him and zeppelin for days.

I have to concur about the TABS thing. And John Paul Jones too.

I'll consult tabs for fretboard logistics, but the feel comes from listening to the recording, over & over & over again.

+2.
I think it's worth getting the notated transcription for "The Lemon Song"; it's ALOT to remember by ear.
Oh, and tabs are just wrong.
