John Paul Jones's New Album

Sign in to disble this ad
The supergroup consisting of Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age), Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss, Eagles of Death Metal), and John Paul Jones (duh) is releasing an album next week, BUT, they just put the album up on Youtube. To say the least, it's fantastic, and has amazing bass playing. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/user/themcrookedvultures

Enjoy.

EDIT: Not only does JPJ do some fantastic bass work, but he lends his mandolin, keytar, and piano skills as well.

There's only one "dud", but that's only according to their standards. It's still a fine song (it's Interludes With Ludes)

I was pretty impressed, just heard one on the radio today. Pretty neat. The vocals seemed a bit redundant but the instrumentals kept me interested. I was blown away when the DJ explained who the band was.

Best supergroup in a while. Definitely adding it to the collection.

The singles they aired via radio are most definitely some of the weakest tracks on the album, so don't be misconstrued by them haha

I spent my lunch break learning "Mind Eraser (No Chaser)" by ear.

You really do have to listen to Them Crooked Vultures through a good sound system (I use my PA) to get the full force of the rhythm section.
