Just got back from Duran's first NYC Broadway show. Lots of fun and kitschy. Not the kind of show you'd expect. Very surprising, very artsy, so if you are going to one of the B Way shows, I would suggest you don't read the reviews and just be surprised.
Anyway, JT rocked it like hurricane. He sported a pewter gray cirrus for the new record and his Tiger eye cirruses for the oldies. He played another kind of bass for a good portion of the show but I won't reuin the surprise.
His tone reminded me a lot of the old days. He brought back that midrange, nasaly funk sound but with a little crunch to it now. Great stuff.
Girls on Film was the stand out JT performance. His tone was rippin and he really nailed it, moving the fills around and having lots of fun.
There is also a really funky new tune form RCM with a prominent slap line. Forgot the name but great one live.
Great band. Great show. Great bassist. It's always energizing to see JT play.
