I just want to her what you guys think about Johnny Christ of Avenged Sevenfold.

He has some pretty cool basslines. His stage presence is pretty awesome too IMO.

Thoughts, guys?

For a minute I thought you were talking about John Christ from Danzig. I was like "Whoa, that guy plays bass now?"

I like his bass work on the song Afterlife. And from what I understand he can play both finger style and with a pick, that's pretty cool.

Big A7X fan here, his playing is pretty good and he supports the band perfectly. Hes improved so much over the years as evident on the album Nightmare.

I got to say that he is one of only a few bass players in his genre that can actually be heard. He cuts through the wall of guitars very nicely. I have seen A7X 4 times. He has a fantastic live tone. Love the Musicman he uses most of the time.

Why is bass better than guitar? Because you can't play 'Hey there Delilah' on bass.

He's pretty good and does like everything (finger, picking, and slapping). He doesn't stray much from following the guitars though (whether that's goo or bad is up to you). Although IMO his best work is on City Of Evil

Johnny Christ is a beast! A7X is my favorite band, he doesn't really play anything ridiculous most of the time. But he is a very solid player and has the best stage presence out of the whole band.
