Right on. I met him last year at a show. He is a really nice dude. I never knew his playing when he was sounding like VW. He was already playing with Greg Howe by the time I had heard of him.
In fact, his playing with Greg Howe is why I have heard of him. I just came across this video the other day and I though his phrasing was really cool.
