I heard this guy was pretty good with a bass, particularly with his fussion work.
Can anyone recomend some stuff?
Also did he ever work with Allan Holdsworth? if so do tell what albums and whatnot.
Thanks For Your Time.

Also, I just picked up the re-issue of Michael Shrieve's Two Doors...the 1st 1/2 of the album is Shrieve/Lane/Hellborg as a fairly straightforward Fusion power trio
(2nd 1/2 of the album is Shrieve/Wayne Horvitz/Bill Frisell in a less straightforward trio).

My personal favorite: "THE WORD" ~ Jonas, Tony Williams, a string Quartet and Bill Laswell producing...

It is fantastic, and single handedly made him one of my favourite bassists (this was before I had even got round to the Mahavishnu Orchestra and his work with Shawn lane!).
it's out of print so it cna be tricky to get, but it is astounding! |

Could anyone recommend any of his more obscure stuff? Almost every time I delve into his discography, I find something new. I'm at school right now, but when I get home, I'm going to start making a list of his complete discography in this thread. |

It's not for everyone - 80's fusion - but there is some great stuff in there. I know he also played with Mclaughlin and Gurtu but I don't think there is any recording of that. |
