| Jonas Hellborg - M.I.A. ??
About 2 years ago, the great bass master, Mr. Hellborg, announced he was re-releasing "The Silent Life" in a remastered format and an etntirely new release featuring himself with a traditional Eastern Indian percussionist (naturally). Suddenly the announcement vanished and a voice or two closer to Jonas said the albums were being dumped to a vintage analogue recording console then reformated to digital to add some tone-ophile qualities. Saddly that was a long time ago and the only new material heard by the broader mankind can be enjoyed via the poor (free) quality of YouTube videos. ...which is better than nothing I suppose, but does anybody have the skinny on when a new Hellborg album may be released? I think 2007 was his last recording (with Sipe and an electric wind player). |
