I know - not exactly new news ... but still. Pretty radical for the time and it holds up very well.

I really like Joni. The imagery her lyrics conjure up is magical and I think she has respect from other musicians that trancends musical genres. The collaboration with Jaco and so many other great musicians was very powerful and I think that the 'Shadows and Light' era was one of her best. Of all the songs on that album 'Coyote' is in my top 3, along with Hejira and Amelia.

That whole album gives me shivers. There's some out-of-this-world musicianship going on there, especially Joni's guitar playing.

I played at the venue it was recorded at, and I felt truly humble on that stage...

The only disappointment about that video was that Lyle never got a solo. I really dig his solo's, he structures them to build and build and then peak and then ease back into the tune. Oh, well. Everything else about that performance was amazing.
