I was flippin through the new Bass guitar magazine in a store the other day and saw they had a small article about him. I saw him list a bunch of reggae bassists that were influences on him. Anybody else see this? I was wondering who all he said were influences? I know Family Man Barrett and Robbie SHakespeare really well but other than that I dont know to many others.

I've just been listening to Roots Tonic meets Bill Laswell, Josh has got some killer lines down, the kind of thing that sounds so good it scares me a little!

Top notch production work by Laswell to boot, and yea, the bass thunders. The track JD3 is particularly awesome.

the bassplayer interview you mention is now online:

This is what he says about his influences "For me, it’s an homage to players like Flabba Holt [Gregory Isaacs, Israel Vibration], Robbie Shakespeare [Black Uhuru, Sly & Robbie], and "Family Man" Barrett [Bob Marley & the Wailers]. A lot of people get into reggae because they hear bands like No Doubt or Matisyahu. I just hope they’ll also check out where that stuff comes from."
