just watchin' the Princess Diana concert right now and Joss Stone's bassist with his Jazz and flats are kickin butt! Has got to be the deepest/clearest "live" bass tone I've heard come through my little TV speakers.... nuts!

It's a pretty decent mix in general. I can hear pretty much everything and my TV as well does not have very good speakers.

Yes, I'm watching the end of that Lady Diana concert and most of the mixes are pretty damn good. Tom Jones even mentioned that the sound on stage was particularly good. Hats off to all the sound people!

I suppose if you've got an anticipated audience of 500 million, you make sure you got your best guys behind the board.

I think I saw where you could stream hunks of it on vh1.com, and since MTv owns VH1, you can bet you'll be tired of it before they stop playing it on tv.

I just saw the NBC version, and I really liked how John Taylor's Cirrus sounded and the bassist for Elton John had a SR5 really clear in the mix. Rod Stewart's bassist had a JO5, but the bass wasn't very prominent on that song. Like t others said, the mix was outstanding! As is often the case, I was struck by the scarcity of boutique basses on such a big stage. It is just further evidence that a pretty standard instrument can work just fine under about any circumstances.

Joss's bassist was her longtime touring bassist Peter Iannacone, I always dig his groove. Anybody know who the cat who played the G&L in the house band behind Tome Jones, Bryan Ferry, etc was?

Then why can't they get good sound at the Super Bowl halftime shows? Every year, something goes wrong.

To be fair, the Super Bowl systems have to be set up and torn down within minutes.

I knew him as Pete Sebastian. GREAT player. We used to share gigs in So Fla back in the day. Great to see him doing so well.

I saw Joss Stone Live At The Byron Bay Blues Fest, (also saw the flecktones) And this guy was quite awesome. He putt on one of the best solos I've seen, They Had a 19 minute encore lol. But i have to Say Wooten Had a Better Solo at Bluesfest. And so did the guy From Bluezone.
