Juan Alderete's wicked bass solo - some questions

Starts around 5:05
I've always loved it, totally experimental and trippy.
Anyways, I'm trying to figure out which effects he's using.
I'm guessing it's mostly bass synth, perhaps Digitech bass synth wah?
I love that sound when he's stomping the pedal. But which pedal is it? I can't figure out. You get a close glimpse at his pedalboard and the pedal he's stomping at 5:57 but I'm not sure which pedal it is. It looked like Digitech bass synth at first with its greenish case, but I think it's a Boss pedal. You can also see like 2 other Boss pedals there.
I'm sure most of you bass gurus (or effect gurus) could clear this up for me, I'm just getting into the effect pedals.

The pedal he is turning on and off is a Boss PN2 Tremolo/pan. Discontinued. I used to have one. It was fun.

There is definitely delay going on too. The rest I don't know. The dude's board is about the size of a city block.

He obviously has a delay on, you can tell hes rocking his compressor when he starts hitting those harmonics, and he you can tell he has his boss oc-2 on when he kicks off the synth, im sure he had it on the whole time along with the compressor, i am guessing the synth he is using is the EHX bass microsynth he is in love with because of how clean the tracking was and independent the sweep was. im sure you can tell torwards the end once he kicked off the synth he played a little bit on his dunlop bass wah.. and that's all i can tell hes using here.. Nice clip though.. I love Juan and the Mars Volta. good luck on your venture into effects... its an addiction.

Wow !!!
I dig Juan's playing, but for me, it's just to much effects.
They become a crutch.
Not my thing, but thanks, cool clip.

They're only a crutch if you can't be bada$$ without them, and Juan sure can be bada$$ without them.

Well he certainly doesn't need them. He doesn't plenty of work with a straight dry signal that is nothing short of amazing.

Praise the Enlightment of Alderete! Haha

He really does manage a great combination of phenomenal player and inventive sound architect, as opposed to someone like the Edge who really focuses on the sound design more than the playing (IMO).

And now for something completely different.....

hehe.....
Racer X (Live Extreme) John Alderete Bass Solo - YouTube
Sometimes I just love blistering flurry of notes like this!
Just the stamina alone to play that fast for that long is kinda nutty.
But then again, that's pretty much what Racer X was about!
