Question Is it just me or...

is it just me or do metal bassist who use a pick tend to cut through in the mix better than bassist who use their fingers?? I know alot of it is how hard you play, tone is in your hands etc..
But in general!!
what do ye guys think?

It's just you... just kidding. I think you are GENERALLY right. You get better attack with a pick and the tone tends to be brighter.

Yeah, there are of course exceptions, but as said above, generally a pick gives you a brighter attack which helps the bass "cut" a little more.

hmmm ya ... cause i play in a rock band at the mo and im considering changing to a pick because it suites us more i think. i dont really like using a plek put in the end of the day your playing for the band and not for yourself right!?
