...and was thoroughly impressed. To be honest, I went to the show to see the local bands (who were incredible), but I had heard good things about their live show, and I have nothing better to do, so I stuck around.
Tobin Esperance, their bassist, tore it up! It was an outdoor show, and he rotated through three (!) Lakland 44-94s, running through his board and to what appeared to be a ton of rackmounted gear hiding behind 2 miked Ampeg 810s. About 80% of the set was fingerstyle, but he used a pick on a couple songs, and during one song, he threw the pick into the crowd and finished the song slapping.
I had never been a big fan of Papa Roach, but seeing the songs I hear on the radio being played live, right in front of me, really changed the way I think about the band. Very, very talented musicians, all around.
Anyway, I'm still pumped from the show, just thought I'd share my experience.
