Yup......probably some of the best playing I've seen Jaco do, with the exception of some Weather Report stuff, is on that Joni Mitcell tour.

I assume you are talking about the 'Shadows and Light' DVD. Great playing, but don't you just want to slap the director...every time Jaco goes into some amazing groove or fill, the video fades to a wolf running around in snow, etc.

Yes "Shadows and Light Tour"

And I totally agree....director / editor must be fresh out of film school....and forgot to listen to the teachers note..."Show what they want to see"

1st time I watched it I thought it was ok, but now that I am disecting the performance....it annoys me big time.

Yes, Jaco was smokin' on that day. The whole band is great especially Methney and Brecker. I had that when it was on VHS and so glad it was transfered to DVD it's a real classic.

I have it on my computer. I haven't watched it in a while. Porkpie Hat is cool with those lyrics.

I agree. I think it's Jaco at his best. Brilliant. Who today could have taken his place and played so with such groove?

Yeah, "Coyote" is actually one of my favorite Jaco performances. I wanted to see how he executed it live and then here comes a stock footage film festival.
