I can't say I'm surprised, but I sure hate to see someone who played such cool basslines go out like this.

That's a shame.

Finch played some cool lines on those old KC and the Sunshine Band tunes.

he was also the co-producer and co-writer. they should double his sentence because of that.

here's my favorite part of the story:

Quote:
A message posted on the Web site of Richard Finch Productions Inc. said the allegations against the producer and song arranger were baseless.

"We will let due process happen through the legal system," it said, "and through that, we are sure Mr. Finch will be vindicated from these unfounded allegations."
of course, shortly before they printed that comment, they printed this:

Quote:
"Finch, while being interviewed at the sheriff's office, admitted he'd had sex with that boy and others ranging in age from 13 to 17, police said."
he admitted it but he's going to be vindicated? how's that? is nambla running the court system now?

good riddance, dude.

So, "that's the way, uh huh uh huh, he likes it?"

If the allegations are true (and he's admitted they are) he should rot in prison.

You can't make this stuff up!

from the article:

Finch formerly played bass for KC and the Sunshine Band, best known for 1970s disco and funk hits including "Shake Your Booty,""Get Down Tonight" and "That's the Way (I Like It)."

He won't 'rot' in prison, he'll be too busy. Nonces are not well received in prison by all accounts.

"Finch, while being interviewed at the sheriff's office, admitted he'd had sex with that boy and others ranging in age from 13 to 17, police said."

Apparently he was then quoted as saying, "I'm a pushover, but there ain't nothin' wrong with a little bit of loving - especially when I'm wearing my boogie shoes. It might be true that I'm so crazy but you people should just let it go. It's not my fault I get lifted when I think of little boys - it's just the way I like it. Regardless, I'm prepared to do what makes you happy."

That's just great.. Now these songs take on a new meaning.
