Nope. I've been wondering as well. Saw him at the Essence Festival in 2005. Great show.

My sis has the album. I'll ask her to take a look at the liner notes.

Can't get ahold of my sis, but bn.com says the bassist is Al Turner.

It's either AL Turner or Mike Harrington, both are local Detroit boys that kill.

Al Turner was the bassist on his CD prior to this one (Kem II). Al Also went on the last tour with Kem. Don't know who is playing bass on this one.

I just checked out Al Turner's website, and sure enough, it's him on this song and also on tour in February. they're playing a show in Dallas, but I can't quite swing the cash for tickets...really good to know who's behind this playing though, definitely some of my favorite work!

Correct. But he's not on the 1st one. I remember seeing some interview on Youtube where Turner discusses working on KEM's new album. So it's gotta be him on the new one.

Here's some links to both, I know Turner played with KEM after Harrington left. But I don't know if Harrington was on CD or just on the road. One of the reasons I miss Low Down Sound (Detroit bass shop) was I use to run into Mike there all the time. He's a great guy and a smoking player. I suspect, although I've never met him that Turner is pretty good too.
Mike plays in local clubs around town a lot with Alexander Zonjic (Jazz flautist).

Didn't Kem use another well known cat? For some reason, I'm thinking of a 'Peanut' or some guy with a nickname. If Al couldn't make the gig, this cat use to be there. Tall and thin and I think he wore glasses.

Edit: Found it.

Currently Darrell "Peanut" Smith can be seen performing concerts with Motown Recording Artist "Kem", "Motown Legend" Martha Reeves, Pianist "Al McKenzie"-AMAC Records, Saxophonist Dave McMurray-"HipBop Records", Vocalist Penny Wells-AMAC Records, and Keyboardist Brian O'Neal
Couple more pics. Saw him playing with Kem at the Hampton Jazz Fest in 2009.
