In the meantime, Hammond has released a new 15 lb SK-1 model, and a 2 manual version that weighs something like 25 lbs. Long story short, an SK-1 is now incoming to the holdsg household. Pics when it's here.

Somebody got the same 'problem'?

Its been a whirlwind coupla months.
Back to playin bass full time in one cover band, and keys full time in another.
Best of both worlds, really.
Hope all is well with y'all.
Oh, and by the way, I couldn't help the GAS, have one of the new Prophet 12 syths on order, should be here in June. Getting ready to destroy small cities with the tweak of a knob.

My family was very musical with parents and all sibs playing different instruments. We never formed a band though. My older brother played drums and one day back in the '70's' came home with a Fender Mustang and a mid sized combo. I was mesmerized. The problem was that he didn't want me touching any of his things so I could only occasionally sneak in time while he was out working or on a date. He did catch me a few times and kicked the crap out of me, which made me determined to keep playing, but not get caught. One day while I was whaling away he came home early and heard me playing. I guess he liked what he heard and decided to let me use his stuff from then on. I'm sure if I didn't first have experience and understanding of music one gets from the piano, i could never have picked up and enjoyed playing the bass?
Does that qualify me?

I have a bad back and symptoms of CTS, and I'm just wondering whether stepping up my keys playing is likely to aggravate problems or whether keys might actually be a bit easier on me than bass (despite all the things I've done to make bass as physically easy as I can). |

I've played keyboards for over 40 years, no carpal tunnel (knock on wood) or back/neck issues yet. The stuff is going to do me in one day, long before my fingers and wrists give out.
