Not my thing at all (hate the tone)... BUT... very impressive. It takes some big ones to do club gigs as a solo bassist. Nice!

I think she may be right handed but had an early childhood injury to her left hand that affected her thumb, middle and ring finger i.e. parts of those fingers are missing.

KJung - Just 'tween us, I'm getting to the point of really hating the synth sound. Some of them work well, but the biggest downside for me is having requests to "play that saxophone or (insert sound here) song again" or similar. Getting really old, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Thanks for the thread, it was really pretty cool to log in and see my own thread so to speak.

For historical content, I've always been a lefty.

My "childhood" (age 15) injury left me with enough remaining digits to be able to sustain being left handed, (though for a couple of years I focused on training my right hand for the 'everyday tasks' ie writing, tooth brushing etc). When I realized I could write better left handed than right handed, I switched back. Actually learning to play happened about six months after losing my fingers and was initially therapeutic, but it didn't take long at all to 'discover my calling'. First pro gig at 17 years old.

Guess that's it.

Jordasch - nice compliment re Stan Sargeant. I can hear a little bit of 'my style' here and there but the funny part is upside down lefty looks as strange to me as it does to you. Everyone I've ever played with was right hand stringing, right hand playing.

Bluesy Soul - Nope, but I've played here and there on the island. Matter of fact I'm four weeks into a six weeker at the 122 Winslow (used to be the Winslow Cafe I believe) and I've done the Pegasus more than a few times over the last 2-3 years.

I 'escaped' from the suburbs of Seattle about 4 1/2 years ago. Lived in Poulsbo a couple of years, Suquamish for about six months and currently reside in the Kingston area. You from around here?

I had the pleasure of witnessing her performance at the Manchester Pub this weekend. I heard there would be a "solo bassist" performing, and I probably went there for the same reason we don't look away when trains collide. And yet.......this lady was very skilled and very artful, and I am very glad I went. Frankly, I had been wondering why any (sane) bassist (who didn't secretly wish they played guitar) would be interested in playing more than four strings. Kimberly answered that curiosity. Very interesting style.
